Sunday - Rest In Christ - Irvin Rutherford

This morning Holy Communion is about resting In Christ.

"Come to me all you who are heavy laden and I WILL GIVE YOU REST"

The sentence "I WILL GIVE YOU REST" is a co-sertive tence in the original greek.

It means "I WILL GIVE YOU REST TO REST", or "From rest to rest"

Many times we think that we need to rest(by going on a holiday,take it easy,etc) but the bible says COME TO HIM and He will give you the power to rest.So resting dosent comes from us (trying to do it with our own effort) but by His Grace and empowering of His Holy Spirit to rest.

Remember when you come to Him in the presence of His broken body and blood,receive the power to rest from our daily affairs/works/office.work place,busyness/stress/etc.

When Jesus sweat drops of Blood on the garden,this is a act of redemtion on the curse ground (Gen 3:17-19),curse ground represent our job,work,marketplace.Your work place is redeemed by His blood.

Yes!!even resting need Jesus help.REST IN HIS finish work (of Christ) on the cross.

We had a invited guess speaker Irvin Rutherford.. i think i spelled his name correctly..hes a missionary in Indonesia for many years.He's about 65 years old..but he look and sounds like in his early 50's.Still full of life and preach up a storm!!!

(Lost Joy) - Shepherd'joy,Friends'joy, Heaven's joy

Luke 15:9-11-remain IN His loved..His JOY IN US
notice is not about our own joy BUT HIS JOY IN US is made complete.

Issues/problem -isolation ourself from other christian,we loose our joy and become judgmental of others.We have forgoten to remain in His loved.Again notice is HIS LOVE..not ours (trying to love others with our own human love/strenght)<--- flesh/works

SHepherd's Joy to carry you

Jesus carry us in His shoulder,let Him carry us.If we struggle and fights,Jesus will have a hard time carrying us on His shoulder.STOP FIGHTING/STRUGGLE and let Him do the work IN YOU.

Isa 9:6 -shoulder = goverment = Kingdom = is not about food or drink but peace,love and JOY IN THE HOLY SPIRIT.

Rest in Christ.Again is not trying to rest with our own efforts/strenght but rely on His strenght. Neh 8:10 -THE JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGHT

Isa 55:12 -you shall go out with JOY and be led forth in peace

Friends and Neighbours joy-need to learn to work with other christian who got diffrent gift and calling in the marketplace.Sharing of ideas,networking.

Matt 25:21- 21 `And his lord said to him, Well done, servant, good and faithful, over a few things thou wast faithful, over many things I will set thee; enter into the joy of thy lord.

luke 10:17 And the seventy turned back with joy, saying, `Sir, and the demons are being subjected to us in thy name;


Heavens joy- With the finances that we receive/restoration-help to futher the gospel of GRACE.
Acts 20:24 but I make account of none of these, neither do I count my life precious to myself, so that I finish my course with joy, and the ministration that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify fully the good news of the grace of God.

(Lost destiny)

-woman lost 10 coins (10 coins was for her marriage) due to iresponsible,spend it on other less inportant issues,etc..and to recover it the woman light a lamp,sweep the house clean and search untill she finds it


Jesus is your redeemer

-money/property become more inportant then relationship

-isolation ,self pity

-Because of our past mistake we lost time,money,relationship thus effected our destiny in life. We need to let Jesus (Light of the world)to come into our lives,and let His joy to fill us,in relationshup (listening) to His (rehma,speaking) word and focus on His Son our Righteousness,holiness and sanctification (sweep clean),not our own righteousness but His.Righteousness is a gift,not earned.

-Need the Father's love,know that God has given us all things pertaining to life.
God gave us His Son,how much more will He give us all things.
